Florence & Josh - 6th Time The Charm

After booking in with me at the tail end of 2019 for a March 2020 date, Josh and Florence should have been at their 3rd wedding anniversary by the time we actually got them to tie the knot! Classic Melbourne lockdowns, a move to Newcastle, and some new additions to the family all resulted in half a dozen changes to their wedding date.

Although this is something that isn’t ideal, it’s ok, and its going to happen every now and then. It’s super important for me to be flexible and if there does need to be a date change, and it’s doesn’t clash with a new wedding date, we’re gravy. I’m all about solutions to problems that arise!

With a classic church ceremony in Parkville, followed by a reception at Farm Vigano (my first time and hope not my last), on a sweltering 37 degrees, we made it happen, smiles an all.

Farm Vigano, although located just outside of South Morang, is a touch of Italy, but without the insane around the world flight needed. 100% a place you should check out if you’re looking for a place to get hitched in the North East with plenty of space and style.

Hosted by their friend Pat Nourse, this could have been one of the most wholesome and heart-filled weddings I was a part of. I am known to overuse the word vibe, but the vibe in the room was electric and everyone was just bringing the energy and the room was alive.

Florence also mentioned to me during our time planning their wedding that they loved the film point and shoot aesthetic. As a huge film shooter I jumped at the idea and said I could add that into the day too; I shot an additional roll of this on top of the 2 rolls of medium format, and some of these are my favourite photos. Although they’re not Hi-res and pixel perfect, they have a feeling to them that’s impossible to replicate with a digital camera or iPhone.
